Hope Fadiga

              For this composition, I chose a picture of a sunflower, which was the main subject of the painting. Included in this there is also a butterfly that matches the color scheme of the sunflower. Having the sunflower larger and towards the center of the painting adds balance because there aren't many other things in the background of the painting. Having the butterfly as the same color as the flower helps to unify the two objects together and it makes it seem as if they belong together. I used value in this painting by using different shades of green in the grass and different shades of blue in the sky to make it seem much more realistic. The color scheme of this painting is mostly cool colors but there are also some warm colors that pull everything together.
